Car insurance worry

I have my car insurance registered at the address I currently live in and keep the car, just as both are specified in my in my policy.
However, I'm going to be honest, I'm a tenancy tart! In the past 10 years I have lived at 10 different addresses
I'm quite fickle this way and I can't guarantee it changing until I settle down with someone.
For this reason I keep my car registered at my parent's address and also my road tax and driving licence as this is the one steady address in my life. It really is just to save me the hassle when I inevitably move again.
Could this cause problems with a claim? Is my insurance as good as invalid? A worrying thought brought to light by my sister :undecided

Your insurance correspondence address can be your parents. But you must tell them where your car is usually kept overnight. (And inform them each time this location changes)
Otherwise they will have grounds to invalidate your policy on the grounds of you not being truthful in your application!0 -
As far as the insurance company are aware I live and keep the car at my current residence; they don't have a different correspondence address (i.e. my parents'). I don't mind updating my car insurance address every time I move, that's no biggie and it's an important one.
My worry is that if I were to have an accident, if the police were to investigate they'd find that the car (and tax) and my licence are registered at my parent's address. Could this cause issues or, worst case, give my insurance company a legal excuse not to pay out?0 -
Sorry, misread your OP - there are no insurance issues regarding what you are doing.0

If you make a claim it shouldnt affect your claim as it is supposed to be logical and therefore if the insurance company was at a loss they will want the extra at your currant address.
Best way to do it is how Quentin mentioned in his first post. Get insurance in the address you are currantly at and get the docs diverted by the company to your parents home. The down side is that some companies do mess up.
It is a local council offence to have docs on one address and be living in another address, up to the council if they want to caution you. but they dont really look for people as its extra work, and most Police dont know about it.
Hope this helps,0 -
