The 3G is a real boon if you want to have a UK paper everyday when on your holidays, or even for regular reading at home.
The price has now dropped for newspapers to £10/month, which to me is OK value - given that you are missing many of the pictures.
The browser is poor, but as many have said, it's a real bonus if you don't have a smartphone or other 3G data device.
For me the real value was lying on a beach in Greece and downloading the next book in a series which I had started on spec. Less than five minutes after finishing one, I was starting the next. Can't do tat with a pre-loaded wifi version.
For the tablet/netbook vs. reader argument - there are two advantages for the Kindle - screen and battery life. No need to charge a Kindle everyday and the screen is mean for reading without strain.
I have a Desktop PC, Laptop, Netbook and Kindle. Each have their own place and best use.0 -
