Audio Books - Good source?

Options
Can anyone suggest a good source to find audio books?

I have a new job driving many hundreds of miles a day and I am finding the radio very repetative :o

Thanks

I've used emusic.com for audiobooks. They do MP3s which can be used on any player or easily copied to a CD-Rom (if you car CD player supports MP3 CDs). There are also some great bargains to be had from the music section where some spoken word albums (e.g. the classic radio version of War Of The Worlds) are available as a single 42p track download.

Audible.co.uk is a great site, but they release in a format that is not compatible with all MP3 players.

I borrow them on CD from the library. Locally they cost about £2.50 fro 3 weeks and they have an ever-increasing collection.

If you like listening to stories pop over to librivox.org and download free out-of-copyright stories read by volunteers.

If you've got an itunes account download "Selected Shorts" and/or "the Moth" podcasts for free updated short stories (the Moth ones are true stories).

  • You could also try podcasts - which are often free.
