C&G being weirdly tight about insurance....

    It's potentially worse than just someone being wrong.
    If the customer has not misunderstood then it's an attempted con to presurise the customer into buying their product.
    If that's the case then a complaint should be made against that staff member to stop it happening.

    I agree lisyloo. However, the primary thing to do now is to get it sorted so the mortgage can complete. The complaint can go in afterwards (as you dont want to wait up to 8 weeks for them to resolve it).

    Agreed, if there is a house purchase going on then that's clearly a priority.
    I just don't think they should be able to get away with pressure selling (if indeed there has been no genuine error or genuine misunderstanding).

    Someone has made an "error" telling the OP they must be insured against alien abduction and volcanic eruption etc!

    And when getting a mortgage it is normally a condition of the mortgage that insurance is in place at exchange of contract rather than completion, so some mighty big misunderstandings going on here!

    Someone has made an "error" telling the OP they must be insured against alien abduction and volcanic eruption etc!

    I was assuming some artistic licence on the part of the OP especially about alien abduction :-)
