I find this whole thing ridiculous.
Here we have one brother (who is not short of a bob or two) giving the other brother a helping hand every month to help pay his way. I call that brotherly love!
But here we have the DWP and the LA, possibly going to say that as he gets this regularly, it must be taken into account for the means tested benefits he is on.
Words fail me.
So, if the Brother on the giving side, gives the OP the interest off his bank account, at £1000 per week (I know, ridiculous! But it's just an example.) YOU think they should still get social security payments?
Words fail me too.0 -
do i take that to mean you work as a benefits officer? not being nosey, but clearly who you are affects how much weight i put in your opinion.
i was given the once-over, think it's called the verification framework, last October, and he wrote a letter then saying he had loaned me £x on an informal basis. that was all passed ok. i think that means they will leave me alone for at least a year, so perhaps we'll stop the payments 2 months before the anniversary, as they only wanted to see 2 months of statements.
i'm being made to feel we're doing something untoward here! surely that's not the case?
yes i am a hb/ctb assessor. i dont know if your la reviews every year but mine doesnt any more as its not required. we review claims randomly. some claims havent been reviewed for years.
Maybe jsa will review more frequently?0
