Is the Scottish Power Rep online?
If so, I have a query...
I am not sure you can answer this without knowing my account details, however maybe you can provide some general advice.
I have just received my winter bill from SP and I am in credit by £98.09. In fact, my bill has been in credit all year with monthly payments of £52. The new bill has been increased to £54 and I cannot understand why this is if my account is in credit.
If I am constantly in credit then I feel that my bill should be reduced (quite significantly). Can you give me any advice on this?
My electricity usage is markedly lower than last year as I am the sole occupier of my property.

Hi mination
Thank you for your query. Without seeing your account details and payment history I cannot provide any specifics to your questions however I will offer some general advise. The credit balance on your account may have been higher and the payment of £52.00 was actually lowering your credit balance. There was also a price review on 25/11/10 and so your unit rates may have changed since then which in turn may require your payments to be increased.
If you contact us or me (email to onlinecomplaints@scottishpower.com) with your current meter reading(s) then I can confirm to you exactly what our billing system holds as your annual consumption and thus the level of payments required to cover your consumption going forward.
Knowing what you use over a 12-month period in kWhs will help you to understand the level of payments required on your account.
I'll be happy to review your account for you if you would like to send me an email.
Kind Regards
