I've made more progress as I was accepted for a NatWest c/c which is 0% for 16 months so I plan to pay off Capital one in April, £985. I sold my phone so have already paid £70 off this yesterday. I will close Capital one a/c immediately.

I'm going to transfer Halifax balance of £939 to the 0% card and possibly the £2111 that's on my barclaycard, but that's at 6.9% so it may cost more to pay the 2.9% transfer fee?? I will cancel Halifax card straight away too.

I'm going to pay the mortgage and then live off CM and child benefit for the rest of the month. Will take the kids to see a film next weekend for £1 each, go to the adventure playground for £1 each and go out for a meal on Tesco clubcard vouchers so they won't feel too hard done by. I've got salmon and prawns in the freezer for the kids and will cut back to beans on toast myself. I can do it, I just know I can.
