Just paid off two debts..

Hi everyone,
I have just paid off two debts of £445 and £451.
Three more to go and these are bigger and higher interest so I know I should have paid against these but I wanted to have 3 debts rather than 5 if that makes sense!!

So, left to pay are:

Barclaycard, 6.9% on balance of £2111
Capitalone, 34.9% on balance of £855 as I am going to pay £130 off this week
Halifax, £930, 27%.

I should be able to pay at least £500 off these debts and be rid of them all by the end of the year!! Yippeee.

I feel great for paying off two debts eventhough I used all my wages.

Good luck to everyone!!

  • Well done! I've just started looking at my situation and love all these posts where people are taking control! I know we are supposed to be sensible and pay of the higher interest ones first but I understand why you wanted to get rid of what you could clear 100% and be free of.

Yes well done. I am kinda doing the same and paying off in bits as I can. It does feel better even in a weird way that I would never have thought, liberating almost.

Well done on clearing your first couple of debts and for getting your lightbulb moment before you got in far too deep.

I cleared some small debts first when I got my lightbulb moment, it meant I felt I was making progress for the first few months, which spurred me on.

Take a look at the snowball calculator

    http://www.makesenseofcards.com/snowcalc.html

put your details in and it will tell you the cheapest way to clear off your remaining cards.

Of course you might just want to tackle it your way and work mainly on the smallest balance first.

    Hi there,

This is a great achievment and you should feel proud for making the step towards getting out of debt but I feel I need to ask one question - If you used all your wages to pay off these two debts, what are you living off until next pay day?

    Well done!

I had a load of loans to pay off and I spent months working an extra job and ALL that money went on the loans :)
    I'm now debt free :D

Well, saying that, I have ONE more payment on a HP Sofa :D So just another £52.54 left for the end of the month and I owe NOTHING :D

Just normal bills :( But at least I have something left!
Never again will we OWE someone and never again will we get HP (higher Purchase) - husbands fault on that one, he bought a sofa without informing me grrrrrrr - he's since learnt NEVER to do that again lol.
    Save and buy outright :D

WELL DONE EVERYONE and GOOD LUCK xxx
 Thank you to everyone!
