Claimants tend to get their forms roughly 3 months before your renewal date.

Good idea to start gathering as much evidence as you can.

Keeping a diary of your day to day needs tends to help to jog the mind when filling the form out.

It is adviseable to seek assistance with the form filling from an experienced Welfare Rights adviser (CAB and alike)

Some claimants tend not to send the form in until a couple of weeks before the due date.

It used to be around 5-6 months (in my experience) before the end of your award, however, my last claim was ending end of January 2010 and I received the renewal forms approx 3 months before end of claim.

It seems that they are now sending them out nearer your end of claim date - approx 3 months. It looks as though you will probably be sent the forms around September.

My wife receives DLA and we have never received a renewal in the 7 years she has been receiving it. Is this because she has a congenital disiability and is not going to get better?

Your wife may have been awarded an indefinite award due to her disability but with all the changes due this could be reassessed at any time.

(Just a thought)Do keep up to date with consultants letters and informing GP of care/mobility needs though as some people in these circumstances tend to receive repeat prescriptions and don't see their GP as often and unfortunately if there was a review the DWP tend to request info' from GP.
