HSBC online saver - don't bother

I took Martin's advice and tried to open an Online Saver account with HSBC. I got a letter from them requesting various proofs of address, but needed to contact them as we've just moved house and don't have the ones they requested. I rang the number on the letter but could not get past the automated voice as I don't have a branch sort code or credit card number. I rang the number for non HSBC customers but they only gave me a number for internet banking and they refused to help point blank telling me that there is no telephone helpline for the online saver account. What a rubbish bank!

I've been with HSBC for around two years now and can safely say your title should be shortened: "HSBC - Don't Bother".
Everything I've ever tried to do with them they've screwed up. The staff in their branches are inept at best and their CS is rubbish.
Sadly I hold a postgrad loan with them, so can't flee quite yet, but as soon as that's paid back I won't be touching them with a very long stick.0
