Waiting for an offer to be accepted (or not)

Aw this is awful. Finally found the most perfect house and we've put an offer on (it's not even properly on the market yet) was on for £357k and we've offered £350k, we could or should maybe have offered less but we want the house and the cash is in the bank ready to go. The vendor is apparently wanting to move quickly too. Offer went it at 3.30pm today and we're eating ourselves alive wanting to know yay or nay.
I think they'd be insane not to snap our hands off, but you never know. Oh the anxiety!
How long do these things take usually, I know at 10pm the phone isn't going to ring but I really wish it would!
Sorry, just needed to get this out of my system!

Good luck! That sounds like a great offer, I hope the vendor sees that and snaps your hand off for it... It's terrible isn't it? Waiting for that call to come in. We did that with a house we wanted, it took THREE months of negotiating as the vendors were really uncommunicative (and waiting for that higher offer that never happened!). In the end, it took us putting a note through their door, explaining our position and giving them a bit of an ultimatum as we were getting nowhere via the agent! Fingers and toes crossed for you!0

i'd be going up the walls waiting so long, we put an offer in on a property we wanted yesterday lunchtime and before my Oh had had time to finish his sandwich the offer had been accepted, not sure how long these things generally take maybe we were just lucky? fingers crossed you hear soon xx0

In my experience you should probably hear today or tomorrow at the latest. A couple of my offers were considered over a weekend, but I was always given a call to let me know this.
Good luck!0
