BT have cancelled my Primus account

I have just signed up with BT for their More Broadband and Calls package. I am currently with Plusnet, and use Primus and 18185 for most calls, but line rental is with BT.

When I signed up online, a message appeared asking me to agree that all my calls would be transferred back to BT. I was a little puzzled by this, but assumed that as the line rental was already with them, that this was not relevant to me.

However, today I have received an email from Primus saying "thank you for your request to discontinue the Primus Saver service". The cut off date is 21st March. Can I reinstate this account, and still use it with the BT package, or must I try and cancel BT in order to keep it. I also have the penny mobile add-on, which is used for calls forwarded from home to my mobile when I am out, so I am reluctant to give it up.

    You need to cancel the BT package to keep Primus, the clue is in the package title.
  • I have just rung BT to try and switch to the broadband-only package. I explained about not wanting to switch the calls, and they said "that's alright, we'll cancel the call switch". I keep the package at the same price (cheaper than the standalone), and also keep my Primus account.

    Just need to make sure that Primus keep the account open.

    Make sure Primus do not revert you to another plan without Penny Mobile, email them to confirm - they want current packages closed, to move to thier cheap line rental they tries to remove my PM what a sales call LOL - bar stewards !
    SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)
