Bank Safety Deposit Help

Hello all
I have recently changed my Current Account from HSBC to Alliance & Leicester (attracted by thier interest rates)...Switch over was fine and have not yet closed the HSBC current account as I do have a safety deposit facility with HSBC.
A & L do not offer a safety deposit facility, so it looks like I will need to keep both current accounts running.
If HSBC start charging fees for current accounts, I could find myself with a problem. Any advice/help/alternatives would be most welcome.
Thank you.
