Private Parking ticket

Hi
My company that I own has 16 vehicles and all of my staff drive them, we have a Simsbury’s close to us to which the lads quite often meet there in the coffee shop for breakfast/lunch, to which I have received two parking tickets from Euro Car Parks where on two occasions two of my vehicles were parked in the Disabled bays on both occasions, I completly ignored them before receiving them through the post, I wrote back to them (recorded delivery) stating that I haven’t a clue who was driving which vehicles at the time as we have a fleet of 16 vehicles and also mentioned that I have done extensive investigation within my company to find who was driving what vehicles at what time but still unable to fine who was driving them at the times of both tickets, I have today received a reply from Euro Cart Parks claiming that they require payment of £50.00 per ticket £100.00 in total and is to be paid within 10 days or further charges will apply.
Can you please advise?
Many Thanks
Ray

  • Tell 'em to poke it! The contract to park is with the driver, not the registered keeper or employer. Even if you do know who the driver is (I assume you really do but are keeping quiet about the fact?), you are not required to disclose this information - you could actually be on a sticky wicket with the Data Protection Act if you disclosed records about your employees' movements without their permission.

Are the vehicles sign-written? I would be having words with my staff about parking in disabled bays if I were you.

Just keep ignoring. Please read all the other threads on here that deal with private parking companies.

The invoice is not enforceable, and hero admitted in the Sunday Times a few weeks ago that they have never taken anyone in court, nor do they plan to in future, besides that you have no legal reason to provide them with the drivers details, no matter what they say
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

Read this for reassurance, you have done far too much already but no harm done:

    http://www.fleetnews.co.uk/news/2009/5/28/question-private-parking-fines-fleets-urged/30698/

Watch this Watchdog clip from May 2010 for more reassurance:

You should have just ignored these tickets rather than waste Recorded Delivery money and man hours carrying out a driver records check and then writing to the scumbags!

You will now just be sent the usual ECP letter-chain shown here:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2214803

I have an example of the letters from over 2 years ago in my handbag and they haven't changed, nothing else happens and there's no effect on credit rating and zero liability for the vehicle keeper/owner. Euro NEVER, ever do Court and admitted as much in a national newspaper a few weeks ago. They rely on threats and people not knowing that they have no authority to fine people (same goes for ANY PPC not acting for a Council).

It is SIMPLE, please tell your staff:

    - Ignore any 'ticket' calling itself a 'PARKING Charge Notice' as they are not fines. A real Council ticket is called a Penalty Charge Notice and of course can usually be successfully appealed (unlike a private piece of rubbish).

    HTH
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
