advice on car purchase

1st off, i asked for advice in the "loans section" here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/41818932#Comment_41818932
but advised to post here for better chance for additional advice on the same matter so ive just c&p the below text
after a tad more advice on this as i've complained to the dealer but waiting for a response.
you know about the £300 admin fee or whatever they tag it,
motability have told me they do not charge any fees for the finance,
so we're £300 to the minus to start with.
now the next few bits are not to do with the loan, but felt it better to keep it 1 link though its more consumer rights,
several other issues i need dealing with,
1st, it took them a week to inform motability that our old car (we terminated contract early) had been returned, and that was only due to me asking them if they knew, and didn't!
so that around £45 lost in my dads dla.
the car was advertised as having cruise control, which it hasn't, but thought i can do without it anyway, but they still said the price was the same after i tried to haggle a bit,
i had to pay road tax even though i could have taxed it myself for free the next day,
(though they might not be allowed to let a car leave untaxed)
but ive still lost 1 months tax, and they even left the last owners free tax disc in which dont expire until jan 2012!
i was forced to pay £20 for petrol, and when i got the car, the computer said there was just 23 miles left in the tank!
then i noticed this morning it doesn't even have alloy wheels as advertised!
i know im not very observant!
this coupled with 2 X 80 mile round trips for nothing due to the dealer forgetting bits as left me feeling slightly out of pocket to say the least!
i did do a screen capture of the ad when i was looking so still have it even though the link from website has gone.
would it be too much to ask for some sort of refund due to all this?
and if so how much would cruise control/alloys add to the value, its a 2008 c-max if it matters

the £300 admin fee or whatever they tag it, That looks like a standard HP agreement where you pay XXX at the end to legally own the car . Check with another HP company .
1st, it took them a week to inform motability that our old car (we terminated contract early) had been returned, and that was only due to me asking them if they knew, and didn't!
I am presuming that the dealer is in fact a motability dealer and it gets logged on your account on handover .If not where they aware of notification to motability etc or did you just presume they would handle it though they may not have had a clue if not a motability dealer .
the car was advertised as having cruise control, which it hasn't
If the actual car you purchased was advertised as such then its a Trading Standards job . But not if you saw a general advert that may not have covered that model . Like i just bought xxxx and the brochure says with blue-tooth but on reading the brochure its not on the model i bought = my fault .
Big trouble if a dealer lets a car out untaxed thats why the DVLA brought out week add ons to the yearly tax for dealers . IE i want car on 30TH March it would be taxed by the dealer for one year + whatever the extra week/weeks . But that apply s to a brand new unregistered car . Dont mind that legal it will be not fit for insurance cover handed over a day before . Normal procedure would be to trailer or deliver the car on trade plates to the customers address in the days of being only able to tax for a twelve month .
Personally i would be asking trading standards and if it is a Motability Dealer complaining to Motability .
My information may be out of date as its a few years since i was in the motor trade but have dealt with Motability for the last thirty years .

motability have been fantastic with their advice, although we (my dad) are no longer customers and the used car bought off from a motabilty dealer is in my name, but motability told just to leave their car at the dealers when collecting my car and thats it, i just rang them 6 days later to check and they still had it on the system as been with us.
as i said earlier, motability told me they dont charge any admin fees on their hp scheme , but the dealer said they did, which now turns out was just to make sure i didn't back out of the deal.
the ad for the car was the actual photo of it, and it definitely says it has the 2 features which it most definitely does not.
i can live with the tax situation as if i did get pulled over in the 1 day it wasn't taxed then id have got a much bigger fine, but it is sloppy of the dealer to leave the other disabled tax disc in with 11 months to run, they were supposed to send that back before selling.
the top and bottom of is is that ive been sold a car with certain features that are not there, thus affecting future sell on value and got conned into the £300 hp fee that motability do not charge!0 -
but it is sloppy of the dealer to leave the other disabled tax disc in with 11 months to run, they were supposed to send that back before selling.
Without being 100% sure i believe that the disabled tax disc left in the car would not be valid for anyone bar the original user . Its free road fund for the claimant not for the /car or anyone else and would have been of no value .
the ad for the car was the actual photo of it, and it definitely says it has the 2 features which it most definitely does not
If you have the proof then compensation is due but you may have to threaten them with trading standards as to value its hard to say as its no longer a luxury item on modern cars .
If Motability do not charge the fee then i would want an explanation from the dealer .
If the dealership is part of a larger chain and most are then i would be writing to head office on two points one the false description two the administration fee . Road tax no claim they charged as they should . Not informing Motability re end of contract if motability agree that they should have been informed and it was a motability dealer then i would also complain about that .

i'll just have to wait for a response off them,
what worries me is i agreed and signed everything,
i was peeved to find out they hadn't logged the motability car in as returned to start with, then noticing the plastic wheel trims, coupled with the other stuff, i thought stuff it, i'm going to complain.
thanks for your replies

had 2 replies from finance co.
1st said it was nothing to do with them, take it up with dealer, and the matter was closed in their eyes.
i made a complaint to the FSO as advised by consumer direct and informed the finance co of this,
2nd reply is that its still not their problem as it complies with the credit act, even the description of car? though i didn't even send them a copy of the ad?
though they have offered to terminate the agreement and refund me, but any monies paid to dealer is to be chased up with them, about £800 in deposits and their admin fees.
reading their customer reviews today it could take ages!
where do i stand on returning the car if i go that way?
can i keep it until i get what i'm owed off the dealer, as it will be their car again, or return it, and battle for it and not have a car?
ideally i would prefer to keep it and get suitable compensation but i dont think it will be offered.0
