hi
DD & SIL were informed by their solicitor that contracts for their house sale and purchase would be exchanged this week, however the estate agent has been on the phone to them today and said that the buyers broker has had his clients mortgage application called in for audit ?????
The solicitor has spoken to buyers solicitor who now informs him that no mortgage offer has been received by them as yet and they are not aware of this new problem arising.
The agent said he has no idea how long this audit process will take and they should just sit tight until the offer is received by solicitors.
Is this normal practice for these audits to happen.
many thanks

Our mortgage application was audited when we applied a few weeks ago, our broker kept calling to hurry them and in the end it only took two days before we got the offer0

thanks natmid
just spent an hour on phone with distraught DD, she rang her agent again this afternoon to see if she should inform the sellers of new house and her agent said it was not necessary because the vendor had rung him yesterday afternoon and he had explained the situation and that there may be a delay ??????? to say DD was angry is not describing her feelings, why did her agent not inform her yesterday of the delay and should he really have discussed her buyers business with her vendor before informing her first.... from what we can establish the application was called for audit last friday and the broker has said there is nothing he can do but wait and if he has heard nothing within 28 days he will contact them ? this will cause another set back because DD mortgage offer runs out on 11th april so they will have to re apply (already on extension)yes you can beat it :j - everyday is a bonus - use it well0 -
