Can I take my coat back?

I got a coat from New Look for Christmas.
The lining in the pocket and sleeve are ripped. Surely they should last a bit longer than this? I've got a coat from Next that i've had about 5 years and it's got no rips at all.
So can I take it back and ask for an exchange after this long?

Sorry to say it but you get what you pay for. New Look is much cheaper and much poorer quality than Next. I've had several items from them that have developed faults within a couple of months.
I would try returning it if you still have the receipt. If not, you could still give it a go but they can argue that it's your use of the coat that has caused these rips. If you have long nails, putting the coat on or taking something out of the pocket may rip the lining.
In the future, I would stick with Next!MFW 2019 #61: £13,936.60/£20,0000
