Hi there welcome to diaryland. Well done on shredding the cards. BUT make sure you also close the accounts as well, as this will improve your credit card scores in case you need to balance transfer any debt later on in the year.
have you done an SOA?

Morning
just popped in to say that yesterday I updated my speadsheets and discovered I'm in position to overpay £100 per month. so, quick as a flash after work, I went to the bank and set up a standing order to pay £100 to MBNA starting 8th April !
It will knock at least 6 months of my credit card debt free date - will be mid-2014 instead of early 2015 - hurrah! :j2018 AFD 23/240

just spent ages rambling and listing March successes and April goals, computer went loopy and lost it all
nevermind, here we go again – much shorter version
I’ve decided to focus on the positive things in my life and stop obsessing about my credit card debt. Granted, I am the only one earning a regular income, in a household of 3 adults, but the bills are all paid, we have a roof over our heads, clothes to wear and food to eat.
Also, only 30 months until credit card debt free – yaaaay.

Hello, Eltee. Welcome and good luck. Sounds like you have good plans and are doing well on cutting down/out etc. But - have I missed something? - are neither your son nor your OH getting any benefits?"Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.0 -

Eltee, you're doing great and sounding so positive about it all too. I'm sure Mr E will be sad about winding up his business but he may find it liberating not to have to worry about it any more and he can start to look at different ways to earn.
Good luck250 -
Thank you caledonian princess - I'm sure it's all for the best. TBH I think he actually looks a bit less stressed these past couple of weeks. He signs on tomorrow
Happy Easter to anyone reading/lurking (I lurk a lot and read as many diaries as possible - very inspiring) - am off work until after Easter, visiting family for a few days.
