sitting here having to watch the football (pergatory)
thinking what a great site this is, great advice and knowledge for free.

thank you to everyone that makes this one of the best sites on the net0 -
Yes! Oil is expensive
One way of saving a few pence is https://www.boilerjuice.com
I've used them for quite a few years now and they always seem to come up with the best price. They find the best price and then reduce it further if someone else is ordering in your locality.
There's also graph of oil price trends.
I find boilerjuice expensive, https://www.directoil.co.uk (or could be .com) are always cheaper for me, they are the online part of Watsons.
Great service as well.0 -
I've just checked 1000 litres to mid-Devon!I find boilerjuice expensive, www.directoil.co.uk (or could be .com) are always cheaper for me, they are the online part of Watsons.
Great service as well.
Boiler Juice £618.35
Direct Oil £602.38
Thank you! :T
I'll try them next time0 -
Just joined the oil brigade (the price you pay for a bit of rural idyll....). First 500 litres delivered today; given where the sight gauge was when we moved in - and where it is now - I reckon it'll last about 3 weeks. The joys of an ancient Rayburn....0

East Devon, directoil are £9 dearer than BJ, which is £13 dearer than today's delivery - gulp.0

Buy a woodburning stove, cheaper and a nicer type of heat.0

That's on the shopping list!!0

a woodburner or better still a multi fuel burner (where you can burn coal) has reduced our heating bills by more than half! ours doesnt have a boiler attached to heat the water....but how i wish i had done that in the first place! we burn everything (cardboard / wood / coal) - we get offers of free wood from neighbours and friends who have had trees or fencing chopped down...we even get free wood from a couple of local chippies desperate to get rid of their offcuts! we havent bought wood for about 4 yrs!
our local authority has grants for installing stoves with boilersGive blood - its free0 -
I have looked into the wood burning stove with boiler and I reacon it would pay for itself in about 16 months
We also have a local hardware store that says I can have their delivery pallets for free!!
don't know how quickly they will burn but anything for free can't be bad0
