 A WARNING to anyone doing business with Viewpoint Balconies, Rochdale [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM]. We paid £620 for a balcony back in August 2010 - by cheque as they dont accept credit cards. In spite of numerous broken promises and elaborate excuses from Michael Baines, the owner / director, our balcony never arrived. In the end after months of waiting we could not even contact them and cancelled our order. We took Viewpoint and Baines to the small claims court and recently got a judgement against them [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM] no response (or indeed payment) yet. I have heard of several others who had the same experience with Viewpoint and Baines. This company and its directors are an absolute disgrace [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM]. I would be grateful to hear of anyone with similar experiences. NOTE: - a previous thread on this site dealing with Viewpoint has been removed as some comments were posted that were deemed to be untrue.

Many thanks to those of you who have shared your experiences yesterday. From the previous postings on this site (before they were removed) I know there are loads of others (probably about 6). I hope they find the motivation to reenter their comments - I know it's a pain but it's a little comfort [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM] to know we are not alone.

I have now ordered a balcony from another company, who seem to be very credible - at least they accept credit card payments and have actually sent me a drawing regarding installation. [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM]

I have seen from the deleted postings on this website that [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM] has now set up another new company in the balcony business however I have not managed to find it on the internet. Any information regarding this company would be of interest.

Meanwhile I've not heard anything yet regarding the warrant of execution for my successful court judgement - which was filed against both Viewpoint and [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM] Director. Just so everyone knows the cost of filing a small claim online through "Moneyclaim" is £60. In the event of a successful judgement [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM] the next step of issuing a warrant costs £100. All fees are added to your debt so theoretically you should be able to get all your costs reimbursed - however according to previous postings all company assets are held in the name of [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM] wife and there are no reports of any successful recovery of debts.

The very best of luck to anyone pursuing this through legal channels. [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM]
