When my 17 year old daughter passed a few months back, Tesco was the cheapest for her.0

Hi - consider pass plus scheme which offers up to 30% off the premium.
https://www.ecarinsurance.co.uk are in the scheme and specialize in young drivers. They can arrange monthly pay as you go cover. All their policies include breakdown and legal expenses at no extra.
Other names to try include Elephant Endsleigh Bell Direct.
Best of luck.0 -
Try The National Farmers Union, they were the cheapest by far, however, I put the car in my name with my son as a named driver, even though you don't have any no claims bonuses, it may be cheaper to do it this way. They are very helpful when you ring them up and they also give an extra £100 back if your son/daughter signs a form (not legally binding) to say they will try not to go over the speeding limit/drink and drive etc.0

Another vote here for www.ecarinsurance.com. I insured my son through them earlier this year and saved almost £500. It will also assist if your son does "pass plus".0

Hi,
I found Tesco one of the cheapest when I went to get insurance last year as a first time young driver. (grrrr...dont recommend.... ...dont ask!)
But Prudential were also one of the cheapest as well (went with tescos as new them more) and its who Im insured with now...(£700 cheaper than robdogs Tesco!)
And they do free breakdown!0 -
Hi,
By far the cheapest insurance I've found is AQUOTE. They are good for young drivers and people with no claims bonuses. They can work as a broker and negotiate with larger companies on your behalf. Please note that they're not quick on the phone but well worth the wait! Give them a try at: https://www.aquote.co.uk/aq.asp0 -

https://www.bell.co.uk are great for people with zero no claims bonus. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers0 -
My parents are getting me a 2003 honda civic se sport 1.6l which is awesome, only problem is the insurance (as i have to pay for it). After hours of typing in the same information, the cheapest quote i found is from elephant.co.uk. This is with the policy in my name and me as main driver, with my mum as an infrequent driver - £1,300 for 10 months (as it's an accelerated bonus programme) and you get the no claims after 10 months which knocks the insurance down to only £800 for me! I'm 19 btw and have been driving for 18 months, but haven't got any no claims. Elephant really have been the cheapest by far. Most of these "young drivers only" companies quoted me like £2000+!!! Insurance is such a money making scam lol. I'm a young male driver too, so obviously im in the high-risk category which is why I'm really surprised to have found such a reasonable quote0

You really need to get loads of quotes to see which is the best for you. I would agree with CIS being good for young drivers.
And please please please no one fall into the trap of insuring your sons/daughters cars in your name and with them as a named driver if they are in fact the main user. Your insurance policy can be voided for "fronting" if you do this.Baby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0
