Please, Please, Please, can some one help
My 17 year old son has just passed his test, insurance companies won't touch him or quote in the region of £2000 on a 998cc car
Who is the best company for young drivers, I am sure some one has the answer out there!!!

£2000, I'd snap their hand off! My son's in the same position, just passed, he's 18 in May. Cheapest quote we got for a 998 micra worth about a grand was £3500, when we went to I-Kube which restricts their driving times, that was £4000 . Best of luck getting any cheaper.0

Have a try with the Coop, google CIS, they used to be pretty good with young drivers.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
 17 ,in the 90's yeah but nowadays:(! I was lucky enough to drive and own a car at 17 and half and did 3000 miles worth of joy-riding in my first week of independence! That feeling you never forget ,that moment ,and getting in a car now just seems routine!!
My best advice to you mate is forget him trying to build up a no-claims and put him as a registered driver! I believe if he takes a futher test what ever its called now days >the motorway one ,that may help get the price down! Though location REALY comes into it! For example any city centres will boost the price by £100/200 fully comp more than out in the sticks! Also type of car though even a crap1.1litre kia will stil cost an arm and leg due the greedy insurance companies! Got to get the CEO his brucie bonus for the wifes spending habit lol!
unfortunately the statistics do show males ages 17-25 have most accidents etc even so i feel old lady drivers cause more from what i have see with my own eyes ! Even now 18-40 is an area they hit hard ! used to be 17-30 then 17-35 now near 50 ,depending again on what car!
Its all a JOKE and soon will all be walking as they are winning and pricing normal people off the raod! GREENLOOBY should love that too:mad:0 -
I have found the CHURCHILL DIRECT is the cheapest even more so than Morethan! ok you pay more up front for the first monthy premium but after that its just ...wait for iy £45. Bloody brillant so it shows how DISGUSTING the majority of insurers are! Once again ..the board diirectors maximising premiums to be able to keep the budget sheet look good for their shareholders so they get those 'Brucie bonuses' this xmas! Afterall they have to keep the mistress happy with Another new handbag lol! They don't come cheap dear chappy! Tally ho!0

My son tried Insure the Box and got a big saving - but they measure your mileage and charge you extra if you go above 6,000 so do not bother if he is going to do a lot of driving. My son also got a big discount when he came to renew because they said he had been driving well.0 -
Go for Elephant.
Add 2 additional drivers to his policy.

churchill was cheaper than NFU this year! If you have 4 or more noclaims bonus years.... then they were the cheapest with out a doubt £45 a month! Morethan who use to be the cheapest now £100 got them down to £71 but they would go no lower! Swift were near churchill but the dog wind hands down! Phone them after internet compares and really haggle the !!!!!!!s down!0

If your going to get a policy with a black box fitted then have a good read of all the negative posts on here and have a good think to see if any terms will apply to you, But dont forget these policies are usually inflexible.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
