Ferries to Northern Ireland

We have booked a Sun holiday to Northern Ireland in May. Does anybody know if P & O or Stena Ferries ever have special offers. At the moment prices are around £200 return . There is an offer of £139 for booking through the Sun but sailing times are not very good, just wondered if we could get it any cheaper.
Also does anybody know any good B & B's around Stranraer or Cairnryan for 1 night.
Any help appreciated. Thanks

  • £139 sounds good, doubt you will get it any cheaper, but the catch is the time you have to travel.
The Irish has become one of the most expensive routes.

i saw on the Stena website that they have taken over the DFDS route from Liverpool to Belfast - maybe this will be cheaper?

but £139 does seam very cheap - we usually pay around the £300 mark for car to Dublin!

Do you have a link to the Sun offer i can't find it?? thks
Saying Thank You doesn't cost anything

And they wonder why everyone flies! Cheaper to fly on Ryanair and then hire a car, depending on how many there are and how long you're going for.

Don't know where you are travelling from, but a train ticket from London, or almost anywhere else*, to Dublin including ferry is only £33 single.
Hire a car when you get there.

    * I've checked Newcastle, Dover, Wick and Penzance too.

I don't think you'd get it cheaper than £139. have you got any Tesco club card vouchers? You can use them on Stena, we save ours all year to pay for our ferry crossings.

We've considered flying, but car hire isn't cheap, and it's a lot easier when you can load up the car with all your stuff and drive door to door. The car hire companies charge a fortune for Children's car seats as well.
