Lexmark printer screwing up paper

I have a lemark z735 printer that has only been used once and then stored away for months, now i went to use it and when you press the paper feed button it pulls the paper to the right and screws it all up. I also have another lexmark all in one printer that pulls the paper to the right. So can this be fixed or is it time to get a better printer that will never be used.

I can't give you a precise answer but a couple of general tips might help. Assuming it is a top paper feed, never put just one or two sheets in. Don't over fill though. The 3 Epsons I've had will do the same thing. Make sure the paper is level and properly loaded and that the slider which holds the paper is correctly positioned. If it is possible to do so clean the rollers and carriage. You will be surprised how much ink gets on them, particularly if you have run the clean ink jets option.
Wish I could be of more help.0 -
When you said Make sure the paper is level and properly loaded and the slider which holds the paper is correctly positioned. How do you know if the slider is positioned correctly.0

Adjust the slider so that the paper can not move sideways but not so tight to the paper to restrict movement into the printer.
PS. If you can clean the rollers and carriage make sure the printer is unplugged and be gentle, don't want to break anything. Just use a barely damp cloth, be sure not to leave bits of fluff behind and make sure it is dry before switching back on.0
