I did go to wickes over the weekend and I agree I can get the required units for about £500.
I am actually thinking of speaking to the plumber guy and get all the required bits and bobs as well (I dont want to be going to and fro to wickes to get any items missing).
Also I have seen floor tiles as well for £10.m2.
If I get all the kitchen units from wickes, will they come with all the fittings/handles etc. with it ??
Your quote seems very impressive, and does it include everything that is needed ?0 -
everything inc, but the handles are extra. the end customer is getting those.
taps and sink waste are extra. (waste is only a few quid).Get some gorm.0 -

Your quote actually looks very cheap.
I fitted a new kitchen into my flat a few years ago. B&Q quoted 4k an independent quoted 3k and in the end I did it myself for around 1-1.5K.
The obvious answer for saving money is to do it yourself. As well as saving labour costs it allows you to shop around and get the best deals on offer at the time you are doing particular bits. I got a deal on a sink & tap combination which saved about a hundred and wall tiles which were end of line.
Also I didn't bother with cornices and pelmets which saved a bit and gave the kitchen cleaner simpler lines.
I fitted standard white contiboard instead of plinths which was a lot cheaper and it appeared to be the same stuff just without the colour and price.
If you can stand lino tiles then they will be a lot cheaper than the tiles quoted and very easy to fit yourself.
Finally if you can have a free standing cooker rather than a built in you could save yourself a lot. In my case I ignored B&Qs £300 dishwasher and fitted a £40 zanussi from free ads.0 -
You could save money by doing the tiling yourself . I'm a girl and its dead easy! A real piece of cake. If your not confident, try it on an area of fairly level wall to start & see how you go If your not happy with the result, you can always pull the tiles straight off again & clean them off. Try it. Honestly, Its a piece of cake0
