Redundancy Cover

Just wondering anyone can advise me of a good policy I can take out just incase, I've got life cover and critical illness but upto now haven't got redundancy cover.
Another little question, do you have to of had your redundancy policy at certain period before they pay out.

there are often exclusion periods where you cant claim for the first 30 days or so. Make sure you are aware of all the exclusions before you spend you hard earned cash. i.e. has to be involuntary redundancy (if you accept a package it doesnt pay out), seasonal employment not covered etc

Can you recommend anything, I done a quick quote on moneysupermarket.com and looked for cover for £1500 a month and it brough back a monthly payment of £70 which I thought was very high.
