PMSL - What a quality thread!

Sorry, I don't know what PMSL stands for. However ...

... I eventually found a cheap and effective solution last winter. I went onto Fleabay and found a supplier called Pretty-Chinese and ordered 10 windshield visors which sit perfectly behind my very large radiators. They were £1.99 each incl. postage. I hung them behind the exterior wall rads in my house and a friend's flat and we both notice a big difference, particularly in how quickly the rooms heat up when the central heating is first turned on. The shields are padded and reflective. Search for the following title on Fleabay, if you are interested. Mine took a couple of weeks to arrive. Other suppliers may be cheaper and/or quicker. If they don't work out for you, you can always wait until it is sunny and give them to friends with cars! :rotfl:

  • I've been following Green Steve's energy saving blog for the past year and read an article about the benefits of the Radflek radiator foil so decided to try it out myself. There's a link to a London DIY store called Johnny's DIY who I bought. Even though the savings are minimal, I ended up saving quite a bit in the long run and would recommend it to any family home.

I found Radflec to be a waste of time and money .

Perfect thread for this weather. Forget the radiators, make yourself a hat. It'll keep them out.

I want to make some of these- anyone suggest most effective/cost friendly way? HATE polystyrene... Sad I missed the free radflex offer.

P.S what on earth "loose it's reflective properties!"
Green and minimal chemicals is the new black- I know a fair old bit about sustainability, specially energy and transport stuff. If I can help- please ask!

I'm going out on a limb here, think he meant 'lose'.
