HSBC and Fraud

I have had some fraudulant activity on my account recently. I contacted HSBC and they repaid the money straight away and started an investigation.

The activity was on £20 and it was done over the net. Now, I ahve read that the thieving low life trash who do this take small accounts and if that goes un-noticed they dip in with a larger amount.

I am now worried as they havent suspended my cards and sent me new ones out. Shouldnt they do this?

Probably, but the risk is theirs, not yours.
  • Once you report fraud with a card shouldn't they replace this with a new card number?

If you're worried, but have some urgent transactions you need to make, get them to put a temp block on the card, then call them back to remove it until you make said transaction, then get a replacement sent out once you've done it.
    DFW - DEBT FREEEEEE!

    Total - 10762/10762 :)

Every silver lining has its cloud.

Don't think you have to worry about that - the call centre is only just down the road... :D

Had a similar issue last week ,we are premier customers and had some 8K attempted on numerous transactions but the bank acted very quickly and stopped all the fraudelant transactions and stopped the cards instantly. That was the easy part of it but the issues i have had with the bank on getting two new cards have been nothing short of a joke, they issued a new card to me and forgot to issue a new pin so needless to say it does not work,so i thought the wifes card will be ok but yes they have now blocked that card as well so we have no cards at all, after 8 calls to card services i THINK i have now sorted it and await two new cards and pins.
