Indeed I did misunderstand the OP.
Hardly your fault, I didn't actually state there was an existing lock at the outset! Thanks for your advice, and thanks to everyone else as well. You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.0 -
Don't phone, write to the LL / LA re the lock issue, and keep a copy. I would be inclined to send it recorded delivery too,
I'd be inclined to do that too, I think. If I did email or phone, I'd follow it up in writing like others have suggested.I can understand you missing the door lock issue, but I would have thought the blinds were pretty obvious?
Thing is, I only viewed the flat during the day, and during the day the blinds are fine. They only become a problem at night when it's dark out and light inside. Sure, you could argue that I should have viewed the flat at night too, but I didn't

we had on of those in our old flat.. lock was tempremental at best but it wasn;t the actual lock it was the weight of the door drops it out of alignment every so often.. its actually easy to adjust so i used to but I owned rather than rented so thats why.. in your case notify the landlord..There is already a lock on the door, yes, and I do have the key. It's just that when the key is turned, nothing happens.
I'm not sure what a UPVC door is - it's one of those doors where you push the handle up to close it and push it down to open it (this works from both outside and inside).
One think though are you keeping handle lifted when trying to lock the door?? some doors seem to need you to keep handle lifted while locking and others don'tMF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/2000
