i-allow: selling your info

Has anyone made anything from this? Is there any down sides?0

Probably worth noting that you can sign up to this and know that many places will call you and stuff.
However, if you site your human right to a private home life, they really are in breech of its terms.
I can't add a link as they've been disabled,
but google
"Article 8-the right to respect for private and family life, home and correspondence"
and you should find some good detail.
It means that they will put you on a no-call list if you threaten them well enough with litigious action.
Hope you enjoy it simply for its educational value if nothing else.0 -

Hiya. I signed up to Allow in February, and used their service to join the postal and telephone preference services. I received confirmation emails from the preference services I signed up for, and don't receive nuisance calls or junk mail. I also was careful about what info I put on the site - you choose how much or little you want to put up there, although the more information they have, the more you earn.
I've had more junk mail in my inbox, but that's because it didn't bother me that much - and if it starts to become a pain I'll set up another email addy, and change the address on the site.
I got my £10 bonus as well, and £8.85 added to that - I notice someone else has the same amount now, and I have to admit that seems a bit strange - identical amounts! As others have mentioned, you can only withdraw after 12 months, and once you reach a balance of £25, but I certainly haven't had any problems with it, the advice onsite re the business only just getting off the ground makes sense, so it isn't costing me anything to hang on and see if it's worth it once the company picks up.
I certainly have't had anything untoward happen, I can say that much.0 -

Article 8 will do nothing for you in the sense that you have given permission for these calls mail etc to take place. Although it was not expressly given to that particular company it is implied by your conduct with the original company that you happily provided your information with (knowing that it would be used for this purpose).
Art 8 has been very succesful with the likes of phone tapping etc though and i can guarantee the company in question (even if you've given permission) will likely soil their under garments and remove the information from the database :rotfl:0 -
I joined this a year ago and got some earnings very quickly, but have been stuck at £24.85 since then. They sent me an email saying that the first members have been paid... anyone received any money from them?0
-
Yes I was paid my £28 about 6 weeks ago. Pretty quick at sending the cheque out as soon as I was eligible.
When I signed up with Allow, I used a unique email address, and have had no spam whatsoever. Seems like money for nothing

Cheers for all the info everyone, going to give it a try as I haven't heard any horror stories as of yet! I'll let you know how I get on with everything, back to comping in the meantime!2012 Aims: Ipad, Smartphone, Tyrells Crisps (big supply), Nintendo 3DS.
Thanks to all those who post comps, you're amazing!!:T0 -
Anybody else annoyed with i-allow at the moment? Seems at the moment that they've taken away the chance to earn money from your data, and that there's no payout option for anything you had got previously
