night storage heaters V's Air source heat pump

was planning on fitting night storage heaters as standard electric heaters are very expensive for heating and heating hot water. But an electrician quoted price for night storage heaters was quite high, and given an alternative which is air source heat pumps. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with either and the pros and cons of them both?

TIA

There are loads of threads on this in the LPG and heating forum in this 'Utilities' section - including a sticky.

The Energy Saving Trust carried out a 12 month trial on a load of systems - with generally unsatisfactory results.
