How to Find Out Which Banks Are Linked?

Apologies if I've missed this but I have searched and can't find anything... Is there a definitive thread or info anywhere saying which banks are linked to which?
I've just opened a Co-Op cash minder account at the beginning of what is to be a very long journey, but I've just spotted on one of my GE Money CC statements that the payments go into Co-Op bank - are the two linked? Will my money be safe with Co-Op or can GE Money help themselves to it? (Just in the process of setting up a DMP with CCCS and GE Money will I'm sure be less than impressed with the amount that can be paid initially towards the debt, at least until I'm able to find work again (main job redundancy looming at the end of March) so a little concerned about having my PT wages and DH wages paid in if it's going to disappear into a black hole).
