Problem with Malwarebytes?

Hi, I am following the steps to remove the System Tool 2011 virus and I'm having trouble with Malwarebytes - it scans for about half an hour (finds 2 infected files) and then I get the message 'Malwarebytes has encountered a problem and needs to close' etc.

I'm already in Safe mode - following the instructions from bleeping computer.com. Is there something else I should be doing? How can I remove this virus if I can't run Malwarebytes?

Thanks everyone!

  • Is this a full scan or a quick scan?
If a full scan keeps crashing, run a quick scan first, remove everything found, update definitions and rerun a full scan. Post logs each time here.

You may have to switch of 'heuristics' to get a full scan
