Must be on everyones mind right now, just wondering if bio diesel has become more popular now its been a few years since it was first used.

With the pump prices I am tempted to mix veg oil and diesel but wouldnt know the mixture I'd need and would I need to add any additives?

I have a fiat doblo 07 reg 8v multijet

Any thoughts?

Common rail injectors in that? You dont want to be putting veg oil in that. If its anything like
ford tdci engines you will need £1000+ worth of new injectors long before its saved you that much.

I bought a trailer from a chap who had done it. He decided it wasn't worth the hassle. Back garden full of smelly 20l veg oil cans he said it was just a nightmare.

The govt will find a way to stop people using alternatives...... Either by forcing manufactures to make their cars reject them, by detecting alternative fuels at MOT time (and issuing fines) OR or they'll ram tax up on veg oil and similar produce, meaning the cost of living will sky rocket, eating out will be costly beyond most peoples wallets and more pubs/restaurants will be forced to close. Not at all helped by the rise in foreign imports on food because British farmers work out that producing crop to make bio diesel is a lot more profitable.

It all has a knock on effect...... It's called a "no win situation" :(

I think this may be most people's alternative in a few years. It's mine now :)

I wish I could cycle to work, too many stretches of dual carriageway between work and home though :(
Wouldn't be so bad, but the traffic calming measures have turned everyone into total nutters, by repeatedly opening up two lanes and then squeezing back into 1 lane again every 200 yards.
