We've had an offer :) keeping fingers crossed.

Last week we took our house of the market as we had spoken to friends (well people we know but not overly friendly with) a few week previously and had decided to rent it to them. On Friday I find out they no longer want to rent from us - no real explanation. Was really annoyed at first because we'd just told the agent to take the house of the market, only an hour later we get a call from the agent saying they know we have a tentents lined up but they have a family desperate to look at the house - they looked 2 years ago when we had it up for sale before. They looked round on Saturday (so mad tidying up Friday night).

They rang at 930 today with an offer. After a bit of negotiation we agree on a figure 4k under asking price(which is 2k less than what my husband bought it for in 2004) . It only went on the market in January. I really hope nothing goes wrong now and keeping everything crossed :)
What a relief <<phew>>

I personally would`nt take a house for sale off the market until the buyer has signed the contract. If the sale falls through you will have to put it back up for sale again, keep it for sale with SSTC sign over the for sale board

back to 2004 prices....some locals are in for a shock..
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

Glad it went your way megzmam :) heres hoping it goes smoothly.

I know we were lucky to get our price (although it was cheap in 2004 anyway) we are the only house down our street so it is very hard to compare really.
