Balance Transfer Juggling!

in Credit cards
Hi All,
I am new to balance transfer 'tarting' and need some help. So, I have a balance with m&s and I am going to transfer to barclaycard rewards card (i have been accepted) - however I also have a left over balance with a barclays student account (about 6 yrs old) which has a high rate of interest.
I have been told I cannot transfer barclay account to barclaycard - could I transfer the barclay account debt to m&s and then the whole lot to the new barclaycard???!
Thanks in advance
Lauren

I take it the student account is a credit card account as well, if so yeah transfer onto m&s and then you can transfer again from m&s to b'card.0

You can do this but be aware that you will have to pay 2 lots of balance transfer fees (from student card to M&S then to barclaycard). Work out what this will be and have a think if it's worth it.
If the new Barclaycard balance is going to be interest free then you can get away with making the minimum payments only. Plough all your other spare money into paying off the the student barclaycard. It all sort of depends what sort of sums your talking about.0
