Credit Card / Bank Cards Insurance !!!

Can anyone tell me whether it is a good idea to take out insurance for credit cards/bank cards. Just been on phone to new credit card company who were pushing for me to take. Even saying that my mobile phone is covered but I already know that my home insurance covers me for this. I thought that as long as you contacted the companies to say if cards lost / stolen then you were covered if someone uses your cards. Is this just a way of them making money for something I don't really need.
