Way too much in western economies.
You live in the uk, so are already invested and indirectly own shares in lloyds, halifax, rbs and various enterprises. If they dont do well you will pay for it
USA is our largest trading partner, if they dont do well its already going to effect you. UK citizens are (indirectly) one of the worlds largest investors in usa debt which is at the top of a 30 year bull run
EU is very close to home of course but at least its more diverse I think. I prefer turkey poland, that type if possible but Germany exporters and or euro technology & engineering skills should do well
Emerging is always lower rated then it should be. Thats not just my view, Ive read it a few times.
People over invest in what is familar to them i think
The french mostly invest in france and so on but really you want to counteract any failures in home not double the bet
Property can be as high as 10% without it being exceptional same with commodities.
Maybe shift some this way if not liking foreign political risk, etc
An investment in the elemental could prove more sound0 -
an old story on this themeEmerging equities are still not a consensus story despite the fact they currently account for 70% of global GDP growth
The average US pension fund allocation is 1%
