brit gas nectar points help
My parents have just swapped to British Gas as was cheapest for them and when my dad signed up he did not know anything about free nectar points. My mum has been a nectar cardholder for years and was thrilled she could get extra points for joining but they did not register claim at BG when changing over.
BG is not going to pay them. Does anyone know if there is anyway around this and claiming them?

There isn't. The card has to be registered with British Gas first. as far as I know BG took over supply a few days ago. Just seems a shame0

It means they must have signed up before the offer began then. They can still get some bonus point for registering the nectar card. If they haven't signed up for DDEB yet, they can do that, and get points, and they can also sign up for online billing and submit their own meter reads every month to add extra points. I got a message on my online BG account regarding nectar, so just registered, card arrived after a couple of weeks.
Your folks could always e-mail BG regarding an account opening bonus.
I've sofar only picked up 400 points for submitting a reading and booking a repair on line. Other points are added quarterly allegedly. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

Only relevant for those on their standard tariff, which isn't worth being on anyway.0 -
Ah but you can sign up on standard and change over, and there is an offer on via the callcentres for £100 cashback after a year on standard, so it might be worth it for some folk. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

Do you have a link to the £100 cashback? Is it written into some terms and conditions?
Can you explain how it is worth it? Customers would pay more than £150 on standard compared with the best online deals.
Yes you can change over after the first 15 days and get 4,000 nectar points but that nets you only about £12.50, which isn't worth the effort.0 -
No didn't think so.0
