Gas Meter installation

Hello,
We are hopefully going to have central heating put in to our home (currently without gas). I have been looking at the cost of this but before the gas can be brought in from the road it says a gas meter needs to be installed. Do I need to contact my electricity provider for this (Utility Warehouse)?
Many thanks

You can nominate any provider you wish, to install your meter. It does not have to be your current supplier for electricity. Do a search for the cheapest in your area on USwitch. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your window

You will have to have the gas service installed from the road to the property, then you can apply to have a gas meter installed.0

It is the job of Utility Warehouse to provide you with this as they will be the ones providing your gas, however as i have been a customer of their gas they are not helpful at all and you could be left waiting for some time, i suggest you contact the national grid who supply the gas services for utility warehouse, you will get a better service.. good luck0

You are aware that you will have to pay for the supply installation, I would shop around as utility warehouse may not be the cheapest as they are linked to one of the big 6 energy suppliers with the worst name.0

Why will they be 'providing the gas'? You can contact any supplier to supply the gas.simon_andrews wrote: »It is the job of Utility Warehouse to provide you with this as they will be the ones providing your gas,IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.
