Tracing home address?

I have a query about credit cards and hope someone with more knowledge can help!

I've recently used my credit card at a less than friendly establishment (a nightclub) and after checking my receipts have noticed I was getting over severely over charged.

My question is whether or not if I complain could they use my credit card number to find my home address?

I don't want to get ripped off and want to raise this with trading standards, but don't want a "visit" from the owners!

Any help / advice would be appreciated :)

I can't see how complaining is going to give away your address.

Wow, that was a quick reply! :)

So if they were to re-inburse the charges they couldn't use my credit card number to find out the address?

I'm guessing !lap dancing club" and "worried wife will get a visit"

It is very difficult to dispute charges for services ie prove how many drinks or dances you got. How were you thinking of doing that?

I don't know what you mean........

Yea got it in one, was horrendously drunk and they took cards. I'm not worried about the wife getting a visit as she's cool with it, more a bloke with a bat wanting to repeatedly visit my kneecaps!

I have the proof as I have the receipts. The times on them show were I paid for say 15 minutes, I was getting 5. If you add up the total time paid for I would have needed to be there for 2 hours after they closed.

frankly I don't rate your chances. Would also cancel your card and get a new one so they can't accidentally pass additional charges in future.

Also leave the cards at home in future. only take cash, and leave £20 in the house to pay the cabbie...

Most unlikely they will visit you at home... that would be totally illegal and after all they are a legal club.

There was a court case many years ago when a mother took a strip club (there weren't lapdancing clubs then) to court on the basis that your son (I can't remember the age) was ripped off.
    She won.
