Days out 2011 - guide book - save over £3000!

Hiya,

I was just wondering if anyone had ordered this book in the past and if the savings were worth having?

We are going to Haven Filey soon and I am looking for discounts for Flamingoland and any other attractions nearby. We tend to go out days over the summer rather than having a main holiday and I didnt know if this book would be worth investing in??

Hope someone can help!

A little perspective. It's £3k of savings if you visit every site and attraction with the offers. It's going to cost you at least £3k to save £3k. Plus you'd be unlikely to have time and fuel to visit every site with an offer.

Most places have some sort of offer available elsewhere, so it depends on how badly you want to visit the sites.

  • I just thought I would post as I have just received the magazine and I am really pleased as there are alot of vouchers in there we will use so I think it was worth the £4.95.

    They include:

3 for 2 to Flamingo Land
    2 for 1 to Birdworld
    2 for 1 Camelot
Free child entry to Chester Zoo (with 2 adults)
Entry for Lightwater Valley for £14.95 (for up to 6, usually £21.45)
2 for 1 Paradise Wildlife Park
3 for 2 wristbands for Blackpool pleasure beach
    2 for 1 Pleasurewood Hills
    3 for 2 Pleasure Island
    2 for 1 Waterworld
2 for 1 Wookey Hole caves
    BOGOF wristbands Wicksteed Park

There is alot of vouchers in there but I just posted the larger attractions incase anyone else is interested.

    HTH.

I'm not sure about the magazine, but I signed up online for the unlimited vouchers offer.
I was hoping for Flamingoland vouchers.
I'd expect if they can print it on a magazine, they would offer it on the website?! well no! none of the other attractions interest me :(

Looks like they're all BOGOF type of deals. Useless for people on their own.

I just checked my local area on the website and found:
    - Total of 10 places listed within 10 miles - but that's just a list of where to go, this is not a list of places that have a voucher. For a voucher you have to look for a V beside the listing.
    - Only three of the 10 had any type of voucher. [1] Anybody could get the discount anyway [2] There was no voucher, this was just a listing for the local Council-run swimming pool [3] Web address was old/wrong,
    - One of those relocated to 20 miles away at least 5 years ago
    - One of those rebranded/relaunched 2 years ago

So, it doesn't look like they're pro-active in keeping the information valid/up to date.

They also don't tell you what vouchers/discounts you can get at each place.

To be honest, locally to where I live, you can get more discounts/vouchers by spending 80p on the local Thursday paper.

Does anyone know of a discount code or link to purchase the Days Out Guide at reduced cost like we could do last year?
