Approx cost of replacing both front wings.

I knew my car had a rust issue on the front wings near the bumper, but I hadn't realised how bad it's got over the last few months.

To be honest I think it's going to be a case of replacing both wings & re-spray.

I have a 1996 Mazda MX5 and am wondering if anyone has idea of cost? I won't be tackling the job, it would have to be a body shop.

You may be able to get away with sourcing two wings from a salvage place that are the same colour.

In which case, £50 a side? And they bolt on so not a massive amount of labour -- a decent local garage should be able to do it.

Will be a whole lot more money if you buy new and spray -- can you even get non-pattern wings for old MX5s any more?

What could be a problem is it's a limited edition. Mazda Monaco in racing green. Not sure whether I'd get 2 wings the same from a salvage place.

Speak to the guys at Autolink (MX5 Parts Specialist), they'll be able to get you 2 secondhand wings for a reasonable cost. Then go on https://www.mx5nutz.com to get a recommendation for a good MX5 bodyshop.

Would be ideal if I could get 2 second hand rust free wings in british racing green.

Fortunately racing green is a fairly common colour on older MX5's especially the imported ones and I'm pretty sure the same colour was used accross the years.

That's good, shouldn't be too much of a problem sourcing out what I need.

It would be ideal if I'm lucky enough to find a straight no fuss replacement.

Wife had the front end of her FTO resprayed last year to get rid of stone chips. Cost her £200. Add another £150 for supply and fit of front wings. Best to get the whole of the front of the car sprayed and blended in to the doors and A pillar so they don't stick out like a sore thumb.

Do a search for "mx5 breaking" on Ebay, always the best way!
