Therapeutic earnings limit - War pensions

Options
Hi,

Anybody know what these are and what the rules are?

I'm a 45 yr old, been on a War Pension since GW1, now on 60% war pension and War Pensioners unemployabilty supp, just wondering if I'm allowed to earn some money or not?

Any advice welcomed

Thanks for that, and that is what I thought, but looking at the new rates of War Pensions announced in the House of commons, Therapeutic earnings limit (annual rate) has been increased this year to £4940.00

I can't work out under what circumstances except for Unemployability Supp that the Therapeutic earnings limit would apply? It can't be lowered standard of occupation as that relates to the difference between what you earned in the military and what the assess you can do now, I was on ALSO when I worked.

Can't seem to see who you can get this Therapeutic earnings limit?

  • Been doing more digging and it looks like I am allowed to do some work and top up my income, not much, but it would help a lot, just finding the work now lol :T

    Unemployability Supplement
This is paid where the pensioned disablement is at least 60% and the applicant is likely to be permanently unable to work, or to earn more than a small amount of therapeutic earnings. Unemployability Supplement cannot be paid at the same time as Incapacity Benefit or Employment & Support Allowance (ESA). Unemployability Supplement overlaps with basic state pension and can be topped up to the level of the state pension.

So it would appear that I can earn up to £4940 for the year 2011/12, anyone got a job for me? :D
