Has this ever happened to anyone ???

1st time in all my ebaying years this has happened to me....Bought an ipad yest paid straight away through paypal...seller listings states delivery within 2/3 days max.

This morning got an email from the seller thanking me for pymt and then stating he is now going to transfer paypal funds to his bank account and ONLY then when it clears..he will send the goods to me !!!!!! ????

I contacted him back stating I expected the item to be posted today...am off working by Thurs and if it isn't here by then, I don't want it. OR failing that a refund please.

He has now said with regards to CLEARING that it means into his bank account....!!!!!!!!...I read Ebay and it states CLEARED as into paypal account.

So basically until he gets my dosh in his bank account he is sending me zilch lol......

Has this ever happened to anyone else ? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

No, and I would be hopping mad as well. Someones stars would be taking a hammering for despatch times if they tried.

I do not think that this is allowed be ebay and will have a look at the rules and regs on this. As far as I can remember once funds have cleared in PayPal you are obliged to send the goods.
It is possible that he is using this as an excuse as he does not have stock and is importing it in for China etc.
Lifes a !!!!! and then you marry one:D

If that is the case you will not want it as it will be a fake.

At least he's honest, some buyers would transfer the money and keep quiet and then dispatch.

Though why he decided to list his item as delivery within 2/3 days max is anyone's guess. He should have listed dispatch as 5-7 days.

True but then i doubt that many people would have bid, i know i wouldn't
    a) because of the possibility of getting a fake dispatched from somewhere else
    b) i would not want to wait over a week for something i have paid for
    c) i wouldn't trust a seller that wanted to remove the paypal funds before dispatching my item anyway!

    What's the sellers feedback like?

If it is quite high with decent comments and pictures of the actual item were listed then I doubt it will be a fake or dispatched from elsewhere.

If anything it sounds like a cautious seller, who's messed up by stating delivery within 2/3 days max and then changing the dispatch times to suit themselves.

He's doing that as he thinks it will protect him from a claim; what'll happen instead if you make a claim is that his account will go into the negative and he'll be chased for the money.

    What a silly seller

His feedback is decent and over 100. I believe he is just being over cautious thinking it would protect him from scams etc...

I have now had to go to the resolution centre via paypal who has now debited his paypal account. The seller is still refusing to refund me. So now I have to wait until 13/03/11 to escalate it.

Prob doesn't have the funds now as he's whipped my cash out his paypal account and most likely doesn't have the money in his bank account to cover it yet....lesson learned, seriously going to think twice about purchasing such items on Ebay now.
