Annual Travel Ins 30 day trip

I would be grateful if any "insurance expert" could answer a query I have.
I have an European Annual Policy covering 30 days trips. If I went on holiday for say 34 days and unfortunately became seriously ill what would happen with regard to the insurance ? If I was ill on day 1, would they pay out for 30 days max or would they want details of my flight tickets which may show me being in Europe for 34 days and therefore not pay the claim out at all ?
Many thanks
