Baby Annabell was on offer in Woolworths for £22.49 (i think), and this is the new version 3 - it cries. This is a very good price for baby A, can sell for £40 in some shops. I buy 'official' clothes when I see them cheap, otherwise she is dressed in premature/newborn baby clothing I buy from eBay.0

Yes I bought a Baby A last year my daughter was 4 then, she has a mixture of clothes for it. I buy official ones, when on offer, some nice handmade dolls stuff on ebay at reasonable price, the doll also wears some of my Daughters old clothes & shoes, you could also do what I also do and put it on the family xmas list.
They are not to bad actually as they have an off button!!
My daughters wasn't even the new modle at the time, but she didn't notice.BARGAINADDICT

Thanks for all of your replies - I am beginning to get a bit disturbed by the thought of a doll that poos. Yeah, only a man could have come up with that concept. I am still confused as to which is the best one to buy but the one that can wake up if it is noisy is a bit of a worry. I bought her one of the bear (luv cubs) and she was not that interested so we shall see. Does that mean you can't turn it off or is it kind of on standby. Good idea about the clothes I'll bear that in mind but it is nice to have something that people can buy for her, or for the doll I should say, I am stuck when people ask what she wants. Now I just have to decide which one is best!!0

i understand what you are saying blue-monkey, and i hope i havnt offended anyone all im really tring to say is you got to be carefull there are alot of bogus sites out there, one of the things i like to see is a company address and i couldnt see one on the site, only had a glance though so there might be, my point with the email is any tom !!!!!! n harry can have an hotmail address it takes 2 seconds to apply for one, so just to be carefull
Yes, I understand, I never really thought of that to be honest. Maybe I am too trusting but, that being said, Two Left Feet who seemed quite reputatable (before last weeks Watchdog anyway) still owe me over £120 for that it looks like is going to be a small claims job as they won't even answer my letters about the repairs I had to get done on my buggy still under guarantee. The thing is, I guess you can never really tell how a transaction will work out at he end of the day.0 -

Hi,
just my point of view, but Baby Born is a bit disappointing! There are lots of features listed, but the noises she makes sound nothing like they are supposed to. She doesn't take battieries so that is why. I would choose another one! A smaller (and cheaper) option is the baby chou chou in Asda. She is not as big as baby born and makes lots of noises, sucks her dummy and spits it out in a cheeky fashion!!! My DD is 4 and had her last Xmas (she was on offer in Asda then - around £10 same as now) and loves her the best of all the dolls. Is is the one that has some 'cookies' on a string which also make her make sounds when they are put by her mouth. Can't remember her proper title but soemthing to do with the cookies I think!0 -
I would definately go for Baby A. She is more 'baby like'. Has a soft body with vinyl hands and feet. I never quite got the hang of how to feed Baby B, and what with having to flush her system through when you do, I didn't really try that hard!!!
Baby A is a bargain price at the moment and there are lots of accessories you can buy to go with her, ranging from a few pounds for shoes or socks up to over £60 for a changing station. I'm sure family and friends can find something to buy for Xmas.0 -
Many thanks. It is so hard to choose but I don't want the BB now after reading about flushing and changing, LOL, my days for that are just about over!! It was great to read all of your opinions and advice - the main thing being that I want to be able to turn it off. The Luv Cub is shut in the wardrobe otherwise he cries every now and then and wants to be played with. I have finished my Xmas shopping but there is always that something else and she has asked. I'll have a shop around.
Thanks once again.0 -
My 3 year old is getting baby born from her nan for xmas and the main reason she wants her is that she can put her in the bath!! She has got a soft bodied doll that she inherited from her elder sister but was disappointed that she could never bring the doll into the bath with her.
We also have bought real baby newborn sized clothes for baby dolls in this house with great success...you can definatly get more for your money this way.I hated going to weddings. All the grandmas would poke me saying "You're next". They stopped when I started doing it to them at funerals0
