What could we do?

Not sure if this is the right forum....
Me and hubby are considering moving back in with my mum and dad :eek: to save money while I try and set up my own business.
They live in a council owned property as my father is disabled.
We would have the use of a large bedroom and a smaller room.
However, they have an unused garage and I am wondering if we could do anything with this. I am thinking insulating it, putting some plaster baord up and skimming it ect etc. My brother is a builder so it would be done well. We could then use it as a living space for us, obviously we would not sleep there.
Do you think this would work?

Not too sure that the Council would take too kindly to that.
You certainly need to get the consent of the council before doing anything.0 -
Would possibly need permission from council to move in with parents as well, depends on the wording of their tenancy agreement.
You would definately not be allowed to do any structural works to the property wether permanent or temporary without the councils permission and planning consent. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0
