Painting over lipstick, OMG HELP!!!! PLEASE

We'd started painting the bathroom, my adorable  5 year old had decided to make a start on it with a lipstick.
Anyway rubbed what I could off, and painted over it. No matter how much we put on it's blistering and coming back off or showing through  any ideas what will help it come off as it's driving us mad.
I have already caused more hassle by wanting it white, and it used to be blue so taking some covering, but now this

paint over it with undercoat, or use a stain block0

I tried the spray stain block once on kiddies crayon but it didnt work for me. I am told a partially diluted pva prior to painting will do the trick but havent tried it yet0

I would think, anything that isn't water based will do the trick. I have read that using an Iron on blotting paper (or similar) will remove it, but as you've already painted this is not an option. When we moved to this house, the previous owners must have chain smoked in 1 corner of the living room and the ceiling was orange ! We painted 4 coats before someone told us to use matt gloss..solved it instantly. I'm guessing its the same sort of issue.
Good luck with that.If you want to get ahead in the Rat Race then you will need some faster Rats !! :rolleyes:0 -
The best thing to blot out lipstick, crayon felt tip marks is to apply oilbased undercoat over the marks, when dry, emulsion as normal, and it wont bleed through, but remember to use oil base paint.0

yep oil based undercoat or gloss...... covers a multitude of sins/stains/marks......smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....

To get rid use this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/JML-Magic-Eraser-V1352/dp/B00097ECGM
It works for crayon so should be ok for your needs.
Some Supermarkets/Wilkinsons etc sell it also0 -
Thanks for the reply, I have some of the £1 shops version, they are good but tend to take paint off aswell so not ideal if not redecorating.
Update - The Stain Block stuff has now dried and been painted over and it looks soooo much better, next time I go past a charity collection I will put £5 in as the saving on yet another tin of paint to try to cover it thanks to the reply I gotOne day I might be more organised...........
