Post Office Travel Card

Hi,

Not sure this is the correct place to post about this...
Anyway I have a PO travel money card with a balance of 613Euros.
3 weeks ago PO arbitrarily closed all PO card accounts due to the imminient launch of a new card.
As I am travelling in 2 weeks to Lanzarote I rang to see when I could expect my refund and check how much I would get.
Not only do I have to wait up to 8 weeks to get my money back but they have applied an exchange rate of 1.23E meaing my Euros are worth only £499. This is a scandal as they have forced the point of closure and chosen the rate of exchange at a time when I would otherwise have left my money on the card and not had this deficit of funds.
Anybody know if there is anything I can do about it?

Can they not transfer the Euros to their new card?

No the new card is not yet available and (they say) a transfer is not possible. Just another excuse for cheating us really.

Problem is that as rates go it is/was a good rate for buying back euros. (Such rates are always bad compared to selling rates)

Your problem is that you didn't want to exchange them back and have lost out

Don't keep phoning - WRITE, recorded delivery.
